About Me

I plan, create, write and give guided tours of the Wessex region (Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset and Isle of Wight) from city highlights tours of Winchester, Salisbury, Portsmouth and Southampton to in-depth tours on a specific topic such as Medieval Jewish Winchester, Avebury Stone Circle, Wonderful Women of Winchester for those who wish to delve deeper.

 

I have trained as a Green Badge Tour Guide for Winchester with the Institute of Tourist Guiding in 2016, so have an in-depth knowledge of that area and Hampshire is where I consider myself a ‘local’. I also trained as a professional Blue Badge Guide, the highest standard of guiding in the UK, for the South Central Region (Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and Isle of Wight).

I wrote the book ‘The Little Book of Hampshire’ which you may see stocked in book and gift shops around the county.  But I have strong connections to Dorset and Wiltshire and know these counties well too.

I have also developed several tours for families and children and enjoy helping young people get the best out of their visit.

I do talks or presentations on any of my tour topics using illustrations and I also write about the area, the county and beyond (see My Book).

I believe that a good interpreter can help you immerse yourself in a place, gain a real feel for the locality and help you learn and experience in ways books or media never can.
